clomid ?

How many of you girls are on it? and....How long did you wait before getting on it? I just got off the phone wiht my doctors nurse and that was something that they are discussing. I was just wondering what some of your thoughts are on this drug. TIA

You probably know you'll get a bunch of responses....the most important thing is WHY they want to put you on clomid. Throwing you on clomid is not a One Size Fits All kind of fix. My doctor threw me on it and then 90 days later finally got AF when I had to take Provera to get out that cycle. I never O'd while on it. I had to take a combination of medicines for me to O normally.

I had no side effects, but others on here have. I would be very cautious with taking it....you can/should only take it so many times in your lifetime. GL!

I am on it. I did a cycle of 50mg last month, and am just about to start a second cycle, but with 100mg. I normally O, but have LPD, so they put me on it to cause O sooner, and backed it up with progesterone support.

I don't think you really choose if/when, your doctor should. Make sure your RE monitors you on it.

I have not spoken with my doctor yet, he is supposed to call me back to discuss my particular situation. I dont even know if this is what he wants to do. It was just something that the nurse mentioned and I didnt know to much about it. I was just trying to get some opinions about the drug from women who have been on it. Im not asking you gals for medical opinions, I am just asking for anyones opinion on the drug who has been on it. More opinions the better as far as im concerned

Ok. Well I normally have 1 follicle, and last month on 50mg of Clomid I had 3. So it worked I suppose. But I'm not PG

As for side effects, definitely a little weight gain, and pretty bad hot flashes the first couple of days on it.

Thanks for your help. I might have more questions when I know more from my doctor, right now I am just trying to get as informed as I possibly can about different options he might suggest. I have in the past made decisions based on what they suggest and later find out that it is not really what I want in my body (concerning IUD, and depo) so I am trying to be a little more cautious, and smart about what I put in my body, Im trying to research things more then I used to so I can make the best decision for myself.

Hi...I'm on my first cycle of Clomid (50 mg) now. I haven't had a naturally occuring period for 9 months. My doc prescribed Provera several times hoping to "restart" my cycles but that didn't help. I started charting in December and realized I wasn't ovulating. Doc did blood work then put me on Provera/Clomid. It worked (according to FF) to help me ovulate now I'm in the 2ww.
