bassinet, arms reach sleeper or pack and play combo??

I didn't get a bassinets or the pack and play bassinet combo at my shower so we have to buy them. I really started looking into them and the arms reach sleepers look cool too and we have plenty of room for one in our room. I like have having the idea of a play pen for just incase but I hardly used mine with DS ten years ago I think it might be a waste of money. Or should I just get a bassinet?

What did you get and why?

    I got a bassinett for the bedroom because we don't have much room...but for downstairs we are getting the pack n play for napping.

    we got a pnp with a bassinet. we travel alot though, so it'll come in handy.

    We bought a mini arm's reach cosleeper.  Obviously we haven't used it yet, but we love it!

    We didn't get a pack n play. I had one with first daughter and it was a huge waste of money IMO. We never used it. I didn't need her to be cooped up in a playpen all day (plus, she didn't like it) and she slept in her crib for naps.

    We got a co-sleeper/travel bed because A) we travel a lot and B) I co-slept with DD and loved having her with me all night. I wanted a safe way for this baby to sleep with me and DH.

    Do what works for your family. Like you said, some things that you think are necessities end up being a waste and some things you heard are a waste, work great for you.

    I got a bassinet because I have always liked them! I was thinking of the arms reach sleeper but I really hate play pens.. I always have, so I got the bassinet instead.

    we dont have a lot of room in our 1 br condo so i am putting her in her crib 4 feet away from our bed instead of getting a bassinet. IF we had the room and money I would get an arms reach sleeper (prob the reg size since i believe it doubles as a PNP) or the arms reach cocoon.

    I started out with a pnp and we put it at the end of our bed with DS. He had reflux and I was tired of getting out of bed all night. I couldn't fit it by my bed so I got a co-sleeper. I really liked it. I put a little light on it and then I didn't have to get out of bed unless I needed to feed and change him. Now, his pnp is being used as a ball pit. He really likes that.

    We have a bassinet & a pack 'n play b/c it was bought for us. The pack 'n play will be downstairs.. the bassinet in our bedroom.

    We opted for none.  Directly to the crib.  :-)

    We're just getting the pack and play. We're in a condo/apartment and will have the baby sleep in the pack and play in our room, then move it into the living room during the day (only about 20 feet to travel).

    We have her crib set up in our room (we only have a 2 bedroom and our boys share a room ) and I will have a cradle downstairs.

    We've got the mini so sleeper and PNP with changer. I figure we'll have him sleep in the co-sleeper in our room, and keep the PNP downstairs and for travel.

    Arms reach co-sleeper all the way!!!

    ?Bassinets are darling, but entirely impractical and overpriced...you can only use them for like the first 3 months and then they out-grow them.?

    We were going to use the pack 'n play but it didn't fit in our room w/o moving one of the dressers into the next room, which is going to double as a changing table, so it just made sense to go with the co-sleeper. ?Everything is in the same room...VERY convenient.

    We feel very strongly about having the baby with us in the same room and I will be breast feeding, so having the co-sleeper also makes sense for those reasons.

    I had a bassinet for my first two that worked great for the first couple months.  Since I sold it (and pretty much everything else!) at a yard sale a few years ago when I didn't think I was having any more kids, we're starting over new.  This time we're going to get  a Moses basket for our room to start, then go to the crib.

    I am registered for a PnP and Arm's Reach, but if I don't get the Arm's Reach we won't buy it. We only have one bedroom for the moment anyway so the crib will be in our room but I like the idea of the baby being so close to me.
