Update on my friends baby!!

Backstory if you missed it: She just had her baby on Tuesday at 27 weeks. He was 2lbs 10 oz.
Today: The Drs are thinking he may only need to stay in the hospital for a month!! They were thinking 6-10 weeks, but he is doing so great that they think he will get to go home early. My friend also pumped some milk for him. They told her it would probably last for a week, but to keep pumping. He ate it all in 3 days!! Grow baby grow! I cannot wait for him to come home.
News about me: Big u/s is scheduled for May 14th at 10am. That's only 2 weeks away!!! The Dr said I am measuring perfectly and they baby sound great! Great news all around today!

Reading this brough back memories of my neice and nephew (twins born 27wks, 2.3lbs and 2.9lbs) and brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy to hear he is eating and doing well!
Also, can't wait to see what "team" you will be joining! I am going to throw it out there and say......GIRL!
I am thinking boy...but that's probably only because DH has drilled it into my brain. My Dr says the HB say boy, but he also said he's seen plenty of girls with their HB in the 140's.
DH and I are almost in a competition now. If we are having a boy he wins and if we are having a girl I win. It's fun, but in the end whatever we will having will be wonderful. I just can't wait to know!

Good luck with your u/s... and don't focus too much on the heart beat. When my mom was in labor she had nurses and doctors telling her I was probably a boy because of my heart beat and there were very wrong!
Not to be a Negative Nelly, but there's no way that baby is going home at corrected to 31 weeks. It will be a *minimum* of 35ish weeks corrected to be able to coordinate sucking/swallowing/breathing to eat from a bottle or breastfeed, maintain his/her temp in a crib, etc. It may be closer to term, in all reality. We give a general guideline of the baby's due date as when he/she will be ready to go home.
