Trying to Get Pregnant

New Here...looking for advice of course!

Hi everyone! I have been lurking for a loooong time and now feel I know the ropes! DH and I have decided I am going to go off the pill in August. I am very excited! So, I have a few questions: 1. We of course would love to be pregnant this fall (don't worry...I'm know it can take a long time). So, I guess I am just trying to decide if I should stop the pill now to get it out of my system....really just pondering...not so much a question! 2. I have my physical on Wednesday and am wondering if you ladies could share what sorts of questions you asked your Dr. when preparing to TTC. 3. What suggestions do you have to help prepare my body as well?

I hope I haven't asked any stupid, repetitive questions that will get me in trouble! Sorry in advance if I have!

  • Hum.

If you have really lurked for a looooonng time you probably would already know most of these answers.

You also might know that links were recently placed in the green box at the top....look up there for some of your answers.

this. I love our new little post its. GL
  • Thanks guys...I saw the thing at the top...just trying to introduce myself and start a conversation :)
  • Look at the post-its, and talk to your doctor about going off the pill sooner.  I've been off for 4 months and MAY have just O'd for the first time last week.

If you're going to start charting to help, I'd start now.  It'll help make sense of everything when it's actually time.

You may want to pick up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility, most of us have read it and find it VERY helpful

Most also chart our BBT with fertilityfriend.com this way if you have any questions, the girls on the board can help

It takes peoples bodies different amounts of time to get used to being off bcp, i was lucky and didn't have any sickness and started Oing right away, but not everyone does this....talk do your doctor and see what she says about coming off early

  • The sooner off BCP the better!  I stopped in Feb. and we are not TTC until November.  Just make sure to use backup in the meantime!
  • Thanks so much ladies! I was thinking the same thing about the BCP. My husbands work takes him out of the country from January to the end of March every year, hence why we would love to be pregnant this fall. This will ensure he is home when the baby is born and be with us for awhile before having to leave again!
