Trying to Get Pregnant

Carpet update

Dh agrees it doesn't look like we expected.  We went back to the carpet store to compare it with the original sample, and it's the right one.

The color is starting to grow on me.  It looks ok on the main floor, and I think it will look ok upstairs and in the bedrooms.  I HATE it in the basement.  Hopefully when we get the furniture in down there it wont be so bad.  Worse case we will have to pick a new paint color (even though we just finished painting the whole stupid basement).

Oh, and since it's so stinking gloomy and rainy outside, it makes it look a tad bit darker.  Stupid rain.

  • changing the paint is probably a good idea and a quick fix.
  • well, I'm glad you are starting to like it a little for the main floor...maybe you can get a large patterend area rug for the basement?

  • I'm so sick of painting!  If we change it again, it'll be a long time from now.  DH is burned out on it too.  And we're too cheap to hire somebody.

That's a great idea!  I'm sure DH will splurge on a nice area rug since he's so sick of painting!

  • If you don't mind me asking... I want to carpet my house.  How much is it costing you?
  • we are looking for one for the living room in our house since we are getting wood and Lowes had some nice ones and the prices weren't bad either!

About $9,000.00.  We are carpeting 4 bedrooms, 1 den, 2 large living rooms, a play room that is about the size of a big bedroom, and 2 stair cases.  Since we finished our basement it's really added a lot of square footage to the house.  It probably would have been half the price if it weren't for the basement.

  • Small samples never look the same as the whole finished product.  I hate picking out samples because you never know how they will really look when they are done!  Hopefully a throw rug or the furniture will help with the basement!  I'm with you on painting, I HATE IT...but there is no way we are going to pay an arm and a leg for someone else to do it.
  • I'm sorry it's not what you expected. That's too bad. I bet in a week, you're really glad it's a little bit darker.

I said the same to DH.  We live in the country, we have a dog, and we're about to have a child... probably better we didn't get white carpet!  It's really starting to look nice now.  The sun came out a bit and it's brightened up the rooms.
