I am 14dpo and have tested multiple times, all negative except one that was a positive after about 10-15 minutes (time frame for accuracy is only 1-3 minutes, so I disregard that one). My cycles have never been this long and I usually spot for multiple days before my period. I feel like my body is telling me I'm pregnant, but the tests just aren't cooperating.

Could it still be too early to tell? Could the tests I've been using be defective or not sensitive enough (they are from the dollar store)?

Perhaps give it a couple more days and then test again. It could be too early still. I doubt the tests are defective. GL!!

It's pretty rare, but some people can't use the HPT - my cousin is one of them. Her HPTs will show a negative into the 9th month.

Yes, maybe you had a late implantation. Wait a couple of days and then retest.
