This morning I was thinking about boy names and thought that
Jack-Henry Vincent B was a really cute name. DH said hyphanated first names are low class. I know it may not be some peoples style, but classless. Oh DH.
would you call him Jack-Henry? Or just Jack?
We have some friends that just named their son Jake Henry S. I thought it was cute, but it's a first and middle name.

I don't have an opinion about hyphanated names per say but that name is a little bit of a mouthful. Would he be able to have a nickname or would be always be Jack-Henry?
Also Jack-Henry is the name of a clothing store where I live so to me it's a little odd. But that's just me!
If we're talking Mary-Jo, Jim-Bob or Sue-Ellen - yeah, not terribly classy.
But I don't think Jack-Henry is in any way low-class... although I'd be more inclined to go with Jack Henry Vincent (two middle names - my brother has this). Then he can be Jack or Jack Henry.

Probably Jack most of the time. Once he got older he could decide if he wanted to just go by Jack or Jack-Henry.
not a fan, but I don't think its classless... I just imagine him having to try and write that whole thing in school - that's torture! He will have double the work as "Mike" or "Jack"

Why not name him one and use the other as his nickname or as a middle name?
Well I wanted Jack Henry B the whole time, but DH is stuck on the name Vincent. I think we are just going to have to come up with a whole new name since neither of us want to give in on this one. We'll probably end up finding out we're having a girl after all of our discussions.

This is a great way to put it. I don't get the hyphenated name thing to begin with. Not saying it is wrong, just not something I would do. People are usually known by 1 name, not 5.
I have a hyphenated middle name by birth, but since it didn't fit on any identification cards when I was younger, I now only use the the first (but we're Italian and our names are looooooong). That said, what about Jack Henry-Vincent LastName?

Billy-Joe?? Yeah, not very classy but Jack-Henry is adorable! I love it! We're in the same boat. We have a girl name picked but haven't been able to fall in love with a boys name. *sigh* Hope your debate ends well!
Re: DH said my name idea is "classless"
My CEOs GD's name is Marie-Elyse, and I think it is absolutely precious.
But I'm weird.
I know! I love Henry. I also love Jack, which is why I want to use both. Obviously that won't be happening though!

My thoughts exactly. You probably won't be calling him Jack-Henry will you??

hahaha.
So have either Jack or Henry as middle name not Vincent.
Sue-Ellen??? Hmmm. Maybe I should call my aunt to tell her her name is not classy.
I like Jack-Henry! My nephew's name is Rolf-Henry.
