If you switched from BF to FF...

Did you notice a change in your LO?  If so, what kind of change?  BF has really been getting  me down for a while and I am considering switching soon.

Thanks!

  • I have not switched but I went from only BF to supplementing with formula now that I am back at work. She doesn't get formula often, at the most one bottle a day, but I have not seen any changes in her.

  • I guess the biggest change was that he started to STTN after we switched him to formula. I BF for the first three months, and he was waking up every 3 hours to eat. Since FF he sleeps about 7 hours.

Do you think it was the formula or the end of the rapid growth stage of life?

  • To be honest, the only change I saw right away was their poop.  It smells pretty bad on formula.  James spit up a lot more, but then I switched him to Similac Sensitive from the Infant advanced and it made a world of difference.  To keep the boys from getting constipated, I give them a 1/2 teaspoon of Mylanta 3 times a day and it helps a ton.  It didn't change their demeanor at all.
  • Oh, and to back up Dan&Maggie, formula stays in their tummy longer, so they tend to sleep longer through the night.
  • We haven't made the switch completely, but I've found that he's just more gassy with formula. I switched brands and that seems to help! :)
