rice cereal and my 3 month old...flame away.

My mom has been pressing and pressing the issue of rice cereal. She thinks DS needs something more. I was so sick of hearing about it that I finally said that if she bought it and attempted to feed it to him I would let her do it b/c I sure as heck am not doing it. I wanted to wait til 4 months to start solids. So anyway, last night so of course comes over with her cereal and spoon and mixes up a batch. I just stood in the background tapping my foot with smoke coming out of my ears and watched.

I kept waiting for him to spit it out and cry so I could laugh in her face...

But...he actually loved it. He opened his mouth and kept wanting more.

Who woulda thought???

I'm not going to keep feeding it to him, but at least I know when he's ready in a few weeks, he'll like it! :)

  • I will not flame you for giving rice cereal at 3 months but I do think it is rather ridiculous that you would go against a decision you made for your child b/c you were tired of hearing someone bring it up constantly. To me, that is flameworthy. This is your child. You make the decisions for a reason and should not ease up on them b/c you are tired of defending them.

I agree. I give in too easily. It's a problem I've always had.  When Braydon is begging me for Mercedes when he's 16 I'll probably be reedunkulous and give in to that too...sigh...

    JK... :)

  • No flames here I had to do rice cereal for my reflux monster at 2 months. If it doesn't hurt their tummy then no biggie.
