  • Yes. I see you got some good answers to some of your concerns. My history is that I have had very long annovulatory cycles and have been TTC for 1 year this April. The reason I tried Vitex is b/c we suspect the only issue I am having is hormonal imbalance (due to high-stress job and I have had a lot of personal stresses just within the last 4 mos). The imbalance caused lack of ovulation. Therefore, since my insurance doesn't cover infertility treatments, I tried Vitex. It worked for me. But as PP said, it sometimes takes a couple of months and sometimes it works immediately. For me, it worked very quickly. I took it midway through my last cycle and i had a 32 days cycle. This cycle will be in the 40's. I am use to 90+ or 80+ days.

My Dr. will prescribe chlomid when I am ready b/c he agreed since my cycles are so irregular, it will be much easier on me and my body to pinpoint O. This will eliminate the sex marathons I have been doing! Hope this answers your questions and I do not mind you asking at all.

  • I hear you on the sex marathons; we've exausted ourselves several times, even fought once because my body seemed to be gearing up to O but then never did.  I will sure enjoy a little more predictability, if clomid works for me that is.  we're not really sure what's causing my long annov cycles yet.  we did BW before but since it was well beyond the start of my cycle, there's no way of knowing if my ratio was whack for real or not.  I think I'm doing BW again CD3 if AF would ever decide to get started!  I've spotted a tiny bit the last 2 days but that's it.  It's so annoying because when I used Provera to end my last cycle (80+) AF came 5 days after the last pill and no spotting until a few hours before.  This time around my ute is being stubborn; it's like it knows I'm going to take clomid & is afraid to get KU.

sorry to ramble on.  I got some great answers earlier today & now I just wait so I can try clomid.  I really hope it works for me & that my LH:FSH ratio is actually normal.  If not, I likely have PCOS but that can't completely confirm it either.  I'm a very high stress person, so maybe like you that plays a part in my issues.  I was very stressed about everything last cycle, so that could've done it.  I was much more relaxed this cycle, but still didn't get an O so who knows.

I wish you luck & thank you for sharing your story with me
