I dont know if its "bad" ... but my pedi says to do veggies first, because fruits are sweeter. LO might no want to try veggies because it's not as sweet. Just makes food transitioning(sp) harder.
I can't imagine it would hurt anything. The logic is to help your LO develop a taste for veggies before introducing the sweet things. Personally, I wouldn't want to eat veggies if I could have sweet food either! May make it more difficult to introduce veggies later
I've heard bfing moms should give lo bananas as their first food, because it's closest in taste to bm. Formula babies go with rice cereal. So, there should be nothing wrong with having some veggies before fruits.
My pedi said it didn't matter because no matter the order babies will prefer sweet fruit to veggies. You won't prevent a "sweet tooth" by starting with veggies. That being said, we started with bananas after rice and then pears because the bananas constipated DS. He's taking veggies after them just fine. My pedi said doing white then yellow then green for digestive reasons. We're now alternating fruit, veggie, fruit, veggie, etc.
Re: Is it bad to introduce fruit before veggies?
First of all, Your baby girl is way too cute!
Ok, I hear that if you start fruit first, LO may not take to the veggies. We gave DS bananas first. But he takes veggies fine.
