I used to let him sleep whenever and as long as he wanted, but that was making for confused days and nights and a grumpy boy. Now I let him nap for 3 hours max, and then I wake him up (he does this in the morning - usually 11-2) and then he'll take 1-2 more naps throughout the rest of the day, but those are only 30-60 minutes long (he wakes himself up).

Yeah, this is why I was thinking I needed to wake him. We've had some awful nights lately.

At that age I think he was napping whenever he wanted/needed to. At DS's 2 month appointment the pedi said to start working on being 2 hrs up and 2 hrs down. We still haven't gotten there! But some days we're close.
I have found that DD will not sleep good at night if she is overly tired. I let her sleep as much as she wants, some day's it is a lot and others less. I just take it day by day.

Re: How much napping do you allow your LO to do?
I let Baby Boy do what he's got to do. I feel like he's little enough that he needs his sleep.
Am I crazy?
