Trying to Get Pregnant

Almond Butter

I brought a little container of almond butter to work with me today to eat with some sliced apples at lunch - this has been my obsession for the past week. My sliced apples are now gone ( Crying ) and I'm seriously contemplating taking a spoon and eating the remaning almond butter straight out of the container. Embarrassed

I may need an apple/almond butter intervention. On the plus side, with all that fiber, constipation has not been too much of an issue so far.

  • Okay.  You are clearly loving this almond butter and I have absolutely no idea what it is.  I have to ask about it now.  I am familiar with apple butter and love that.  What is this almond butter?  ::runs off to google::

  • I've never had almond butter before, but hearing you talk about it for the past few days has made me really want to try some. I just added it to my Trader Joe's shopping list.  Embarrassed

It's like peanut butter, except with almonds. Thankfully it's pretty nutritious, though like peanut butter, high in calories. It's a bit hard to find - check organic grocers or the organic section of your supermarket - and is very expensive ($11 per jar). But it's SO worth it.

And I guess I have been talking about it quite a bit lately. Sorry. Embarrassed

I looked it up.  We have Trader Joes and some other organic type places, I may need to check it out.  I love peanut butter.  Don't be sorry - we are teasing you about it!  It made me curious, though, I've never seen it before!  You officially get to provide me with "the thing I learned today."

  • I totally love almond butter, too!

It's a staple in my house. We always get the raw stuff from Trader Joe's, and it's only $4.99 or so. Not organic, unfortunately, which always drives the prices up.

  • Ooh, I love apples with almond butter, especially with cinnamon sprinkled over it. And I totally eat spoonfuls of almond butter at a time. I love that stuff!

No need to be sorry!  You introduced us to something that could potentially be very yummy.  We should be thanking you.  Big Smile
