Hi everyone,
I just found this board today. Normally I'm on other TTC boards...anyway, just wanted to say hi and tell you a little bit about myself.
Dh and I live in NJ, I'm 29, he's 28. We got married a little over 6 months ago and have been TTC since then. I've always had irregular cycles and have a long history of using BCP. I haven't had a naturally occuring AF since last summer (probably around July 2008).
I've had b/w and DH has had s/a that have come back "average/ normal" so I started Clomid this cycle for the first time. I chart on FF...I may have finally ovulated almost 2 weeks ago. This 2ww is horrible...I've already begun testing even though FF says to wait until May 7th. Of course, BFNs so far.
Anyway, I'm still holding out hope for this cycle. If not, my dosage of Clomid will be increased next cycle and we'll try again.

PS - I'm assuming all the TTC lingo is the same between boards...if anything is confusing just let me know!

I haven't been charting the entire time TTC because I didn't even know anything about charting. After speaking to my obgyn before my wedding, she told me to start keeping track of my cycles and taught me how to count the days in my cycle. I found out about charting a little later while roaming thebump boards. After I started charting for a couple of months, I realized I wasn't ovulating. I spoke to my obgyn and she suggested Clomid to help me ovulate. As for BCP, gosh i was on them for so long but stopped in December of 2007. I was getting AF after that pretty much but long cycles. As my wedding approached my AF disappeared...stress I'm sure. Doc prescribed Provera to induce bleeding a coupe of times but it wasn't successful at "rebooting" my cycles. A couple months before the wedding I expressed concern about the possibility of having AF on my wedding day and honeymoom since at that point there was no way at all to track it. She recommended doing BCP for a couple months and straight through to the end of the honeymoon which I did. My last pill was October 20 which was the last day of our honeymoon. AF came 3 days later but then never came back on her own. Doc prescribed Provera another couple of times and finally I started charting and realized no O.

I'm just learning all the fertility specifics and my copy of TCOYF is on its way, but I'm not sure why FF would give you May 7th as a test date if you O'd on the 16th. I'm not charting yet because I'm waiting for AF to visit, but I put in some random temps that would make O fall on Friday the 24th, when I think I O'd for the first time just to get the hang of the system, and FF gave me a test date of May 8th. Is it just because your last cycle was so long as you hadn't started Clomid yet?
Yeah, as far as I know, since this is my first charting cycle where I may have actually ovulated it's giving me the latest possible date to test so that I am not dissapointed with false negatives. If I'd had previous cycles charted on FF with ovulation, it would be able to calculate my average luteal phase length and then use that to determine a future testing date.
I, however, started testing on 9dpo just cuz I was impatient. I've seen other pregnant charts where women have charted everyday until a BFP. lol
