Success after IF

Is this rude?

Friends of ours had a baby last week and I ordered a cookie bouquet to be delivered to their house on Monday. I never received delivery confirmation. Would it be rude to email my friend and ask if he got the cookies? I don't want to look like I'm fishing for a thank you or anything, but I'm genuinely worried that they never got them....

Re: Is this rude?

  • If you didn't want to seem rude, you could always call the company to find out if it were delivered...but I don't see a problem with calling the friend to find out.

  • I don't think it is rude at all, I have had folks contact me to make sure I received what they sent and it has never bothered me.

  • I'd contact the company first.

As a new mom a call like that would have made me feel like crap for not having acknowledged the gift yet.?

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

Ditto!  And if the company can't tell you...I'd try and contact the husband to see.

Thanks! I was actually planning to email the husband, since he's techinically the one I'm friends with (not that I don't like her...well you know what I mean!). But I'll try the company first anyway!

  • Please just wait a couple of weeks to see if you get a thank you!  Someone send a cookie thing to my house when the baby arrived and I didn't get to write the thank you for 2 weeks.  Ironically, the DAY I put the thank you in the mail, I got a call from UPS asking if I received the cookies!  The company (Mrs. Fields) contacted UPS because the sender contacted them!  I was HORRIFIED.  Thank God I had the thank you in the mail.  And I will be honest and say that the first month the baby was here.. I hardly got any thank yous out at all.. it took me a month!
