I got a bunch of baby hand-me-downs

My big sis is done having babies (2 beautiful boys) so she let me go through all her baby stuff to pick out what I wanted.  I'm not KU yet, so it's a little weird to buy stuff ahead of time but these are hand me downs from my sis.  I got a baby swing, exo-saucer, stoller, carseat w/ 2 bases & the best was the breast pump, since I plan on breastfeeing.  Those things are expensive brand new.  I paid her a little money for it all, but not nearly what I would've if I had to buy it myself.  She got all the furniture from when we were babies from my parents, so I've got to buy my own, so I'm glad to get some big items off the list on the cheap.

    I still have to double check that, but I'm aware that I need to do that.  How long are those seats usually good for?  This one is only 4 years old.

    Just googled the expiration date & I guess the rule of thumb is 6 years, so we're ok so long as we don't take 2 years to get KU.  We will have to buy one for our next baby though :(  We'll see, maybe I'll end up buying one anyway.  But everything else is still good so it's still a steal.

    I WISH i was going to get hand-me-downs! I'm going to be the first one in a while in my family to have a baby & on my mom's side, really the first of my generation!

    But the things I would definately buy new are safety items. Better to be safe then sorry!!!

    Oh that's cool!  Sadly, no hand-me-down in my family as I'm the oldest of most of my cousins.  DH's cousin did mention something she may send some my way as soon as her baby boy outgrows some things and possibly some maternity clothes as we're about the same size.  I'm fully prepared to pay everything on my own.  If we get some, I'll be more than happy to accept 'em.

    That's awesome.  I have a good friend who is done having babies and she is going to give me some of her things.  I am excited not to have to spend the money because as we all know that sh!t is expensive!
