My friends mom is going into surgery tomorrow for colon cancer. Anyone know if flowers are ok to send?

  • I am pretty sure you can.
  • Yes.  But wait until she is out of surgery and in a regular room before sending any.  It helps to tell the florist their room number so it is delievered to the correct room/person.

  • Yes, and a lot of florists offer free delivery to funerals and hospitals.
  • Call to double check.  Flowers are not allowed on some floors/in some units.  I know they are not allowed in the ICU directly after surgery.

this is why I was asking. I know some patients have a lower immune system after and they don't want flowers. I'll wait until she's out of surgery. Thanks everyone!

  • The only area of a hospital that you can not send flowers to are the intensive care units. (ICU, CCU, NICU, PICU)
