I'm in Columbus, OH and there was one confirmed case in NE Ohio which is several hours away. I guess it was a little boy who had recently visited family in Mexico. They closed down the school where he went to thouroughly disinfect everything.

My boss called me today -- the hospital wants me to get swabbed because a patient I took care of 2 weeks ago with flu-like symptoms had just returned from spring break in Mexico. I'm sure I would've been sick already, and I remember him... he was negative. I'm not worried.
However, like already said -- soon we will all be in areas with confirmed cases. Wash those hands, gals!
There is only two confirmed cases in KS. It's not all over and to be honest the media is sensationalizing this like crazy! Wash your hands and cover your mouth. If you are sick stay home! Most of the cases in the US are responding to treatment.
Some in Sacramento (about 1 1/2 hrs. away), and just heard a family here in the Bay Area that just got back from Mexico are all sick.... fabulous! I saw a guy at the grocery store wearing a mask today. Part of me thought he looked silly, and part of me thought that's kind of smart.
This is just a flu like any other flu that goes around. The people that are dying are because they're not getting proper care. Just like you can die from anything else without proper care. Wash your hands, don't touch your face after touching door knobs...all common cold common sense.
It will be everywhere if its out there. It will only kill you if you don't rest, take some theraflu, and see a doctor if it progresses.
Re: Tired of swine flu yes I know...
?
Nope! That's now the "closest" and its 2-3 hours away!?

AAAAHHHH!! I am moving to Greenland.
Hmm. How odd. This is the second time in like 3 days that Greenland has been mentioned on GP.

I don't see what the big deal is.
