Ovulation Kits? - blue line

Can anyone tell me about their experience with an Ovulation Kit - how blue is the second blue line when you have the LH surge? Is it really dark blue? Does it get thick like the reference line?

Today, my test seemed as if it didn't have a surge. When I came home today, the line was not thick at all, but it was a slightly darker shade of blue than it had been other days, but definitely not obvious, and definitely not darker or thicker than the reference line.

?Any feedback??
