So dh is out of town tonight and I'm braving the boys alone. I also wanted to get the boys out of the house today (too cold to be outside) so we went to the mall. I needed to get them a few things and get dh a bday present. I was at a jewelry store (buying dh a simple titanium ring to engrave the boys bday in so he doesn't ruin his good diamondish band for sports etc) and a lady came to coo with the boys as I was ordering the ring.?
She was nice and asked if Jax was ok while pointing to his tube. I explained quickly that he has nasty reflux and isn't able to eat orally because he vomits all the time, so not to be alarmed if he does. He had on a bib and was holding his own burp cloth.
So of course a few minutes later...Jax pukes. And yes...he can be violent about it. He throws his head back all the time, so the puke (which is just spit since he doesn't have food in his stomach anymore) collects in his mouth until he bends forward into the towel. The lady started yelling, "HE'S CHOKING, HE'S CHOKING, OH MY GOD!!!" She jumped up and put her hands on him. I calmly put my arm in front of her (like holding her back) and said he's fine. Jax put his head forward, and I wiped everything up. Jax whimpered for about 20 secs while I stroked his hair (because it burns) and then was all smiles.
The lady seriously was holding her chest and breathing so hard. I asked her if she was ok and explained AGAIN, that he vomits often and he's ok. She was totally uncomfortable. I could feel her staring at me and the boys as if looking for something to report to social services or something.
She started shooting questions at me about if we bring him to the doctor or if he's on medicine, or if he's had tests for that. She asked me 3 questions in a row all while I was finishing up with the sales guy and signing the papers.
I turned and looked at her and said,
"nope...we just picked up this feeding-tube system at Walmart"?
Re: I was TOTALLY judged today (long long long)
LOVE IT!!! It's like Bill Engval's "here's your sign."
After a PCOS dx, 18 months of trying, 3 rounds of clomid and 2 follistim IUIs our babies are here!
Wow, that is terrible. I am so sorry you had to deal with that.
At first when I was reading near the end of your post, I was thinking "DUH! of COURSE she has taken him to the doctor, where do you think she got the tube??" And then I read your hilarious response to her! Good for you! I wish I was that witty, in the moment! I always think of the good comebacks later

great reply!!! love it!
I can see that she might have been shaken up- but to question you like that?
she's a whore.
That's my girl! Beeotch needs to mind her own beeswax! Ugh, we had a hell of a day today too. I'll be posting about it later, but basically I was right all along and the G tube portion of their GJ tube is too far in their duadnum (sp?). Evan's ballon is even in the duadnum too.
We refused to be admitted overnight for an outpatient proceedure so we will be back at the hosptial tomorrow for the adjustment (we got there really late in the day and it would have required an over night stay).
You are my hero.
Totally LOVE how you handled that!! ?
People are so ridiculous.?

Ditto!! That was awesome. That woman can SUCK IT.
I have to say, I like your answer. I'm glad you are getting out and about. It feels so good to be out with the boys. Unfortunately there will always be a moron to deal with.?

You know...I wasn't so much pissed off as I was offended at her suggestion of my lack of care. I understand full heartedly that it's disturbing to see a baby do what he does, but that's why I WARNED HER IN ADVANCE! seriously people...
I wonder if that's what the sales guy was thinking who was working with me. Gaurantee he made fun of her later saying, "she warned you!"?
LOL @ the walmart line...good for you!!
and, I'm not too knowledgeable on Jax's story, but seriously, how cute is he that he holds his own burp cloth and wipes his mouth!
HA! Love it. (Your comeback, that is).
Seriously, are all of the crazies out? I rarely go out with all 3 of my girls at the same time, but I did and I am so exhausted from the annoying comments and one lady who was just one of those judgemental biotches. I will gladly go back to hibernating in my home away from these nutjobs.
Wow you are a better woman than me. I would have had an all out nutty on her for first touching my kid w/out my permission and then would have been super rude to all of her questions. Talk about overstepping the boundaries.
Kudos to you on such a clever response!
I can't believe that woman actually had the nerve to question your ability to take care of Jaxon. BTW, I love the ring idea for your husband's b-day!
