Has anyone had any issues with their insurance company paying for the optional NT scan? I have Highmark (Blue Cross Blue Sheild in western PA) and they are really pretty liberal about what they pay for. But I still worry about being stuck with a massive bill after the fact.
Re: Insurance paying for NT scan
They code the scan "Suspected Genetic Abnormality" here. They throw the "suspected" in there so most insurance companies will cover it.
It's all a game in med billing, it seems!

CALL YOUR INSURANCE CO! It's a routine question and they'll know the answer.
Ours was covered.?
I didnt ask, but I figure if they don't cover it, I will just figure it out. My insurance only covers 70% anyway. The good thing is that you can negotiate with your doctors office to pay only a percentage of the cost or to get a payment plan over time. Insurance cos dont pay the full cost, why should you>
