I was somewhat threatened with being admitted to the hospital today. My BP has been on the high side for a while, (140/90 +/-) but today it was 150/100 at the doctor's office. If I had had even a tiny bit of protein in my urine, the doctor would have sent me directly to the hospital. Anyway, they drew my blood to run a PIH panel, and I have to go back tomorrow. My question is related to what to take with me. I wanted to go ahead and pack a bag just in case. Do any of you have recommendations on what to take, at least to start? I've got an idea of what I would take for delivery and recovery, but I hadn't thought about hanging out in the hospital before delivery for observation.
Re: What to pack for early hospital admission (PIH)
bring comfy clothes...I wore yoga pants and tank tops during the day and my regular jammies for bedtimes.
Bring your laptop especially if it has a dvd player, books, puzzles, deck of cards.
If you know you are gonna be there for awhile before delivering I would bring picktures of the family. I had a private room and my entire room was decorated with all kinds of things...I was there for a month before I delivered.
I highly reccommend bringing your pillow(s) and towels
