Many students today have been grating my nerves with not doing their work, not coming into class in dress code and generally thinking that the school year is over and rules don't apply to them anymore because it is April.
One class comes in and are already talking, not doing work, etc. in the first 3 minutes. I say "y'all are all getting on my nerves today" and one of them goes "that's because you're pregnant."
I HATE that they think that I'm being hard/strict on them because I'm pregnant- I've been like this for the past 3 years! It's just so ignorant of them to assume anytime I'm irritated it's because of hormones and not because they are actually doing something wrong... arg.

Re: Reason #275934846 why I hate teaching middle school.
Get out, I was literally JUST about to write a post about this. The very same situation. I was a royal fVcking B!TCH to my students today, but I really can't make myself feel bad about it. These effing kids are not only lazy and obnoxious, but also totally clueless.
I can't wait to leave the building....
I think you need to rethink your career. Suprise kids do things adults don't like and they break rules.
Let a girl vent, okay? That's one of the purposes for this board.
DITTO.
and DITTO. And did you read the post I wrote last week about one of the PARENTS telling me that his daughter said I had "changed on them" now that I was pregnant? Um... OR your daughter is constantly talking, fighting and in trouble and you don't want to admit it.
and you, my friend, are neither helpful not do I think you have knowledge of working with children, kthanks.

After multiple m/c's, a MTHFR diagnosis and the Lord calling both of our hearts in the same direction, we're adopting!

I agree... I love my job (most of the time) and I wouldn't want to do anything else. But sometimes my kids make me want to commit murder 1 and it's nice to hear that I'm not alone. Especially in the spring when they get all wacky and "hormonal". Ha! I should turn the hormone argument around on them and call them out for going through puberty... that'd go over well with admin!
Sometimes the parents are worse than the kids... you ever wonder where you they get it?!?
Lol! So true!!
Ugh that sounds so frustrating! I have no idea what it's like to teach jr. high kids, but I can't really believe that they think it's ok to talk to an adult, especially their TEACHER so disrespectfully. And what are you supposed to do when their parents are the ones teaching them that it's ok? I'm sorry you have to deal with that.
Um, wow. ?Have you ever met a teacher who never complained about their students? ?Seriously? ?We can love our careers, but that doesn't mean we have to love every day or that students never get on our nerves. ?
As for the OP, that sucks! ?I had a really hard day at school as well, and summer can't get here fast enough!?
I saw this post when I got home and laughed. I teach 6th grade and just today told them "I'm so done with you guys". The disrespect, laziness and rudeness they show to adults and each other is pathetic. I had a sub Friday and they were like animals. They are paying for it big time. Good thing I'm pregnant, I'm in b*tch mode.
