I was somewhat threatened with being admitted to the hospital today.
My BP has been on the high side for a while, (140/90 +/-) but today it
was 150/100 at the doctor's office. If I had had even a tiny bit of
protein in my urine, the doctor would have sent me directly to the
hospital. Anyway, they drew my blood to run a PIH panel, and I have to
go back tomorrow. My question is related to what to take with me. I
wanted to go ahead and pack a bag just in case. Do any of you have
recommendations on what to take, at least to start? I've got an idea
of what I would take for delivery and recovery, but I hadn't thought
about hanging out in the hospital before delivery for observation.
Re: XP: What to pack for early hospital admission (PIH)
Def bring your own pillow if you're going to be there for awhile! I got a staph infection on my face from a hospital pillow...plus you'd be more comfortable.
I would also bring toilettries and a lap top in case they have wi fi.
Good luck! Hopefully you won't need it!
I had a similar experience last week and was struck with how bored I was...
The one thing I added to my suitcase was my wedge for my belly. Also, I thought I would get some magazines to read b/c I was bored sitting in triage for an hour. That is all I came up with.
Thanks, Ladies. That's scary about the pillow! I wasn't going to bother, but now I think I'll take mine. The laptop and cell phone, with chargers, are a definite
We're very behind on baby prep, so I hadn't even thought about packing my normal bag yet. I guess I'll be busy tonight.
