Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Saw a baby with dyed hair today

I went shopping, and saw a little girl maybe around 18 months-2 years old with a dyed purple mohawk.  The hair in the middle of her head was dyed purple, she didn't have the sides shaved or anything, thank goodness.  Is this a thing?  And do you think my DD would look good with some blonde highlights?  (That last part is a joke.)

  • It might have been the kind of dye that washes out after a few washes.  My nephew used to love to dye his hair green with the same stuff.  In fact, for our wedding he wanted to dye his hair green so bad.  He was like 5 at the time of the wedding.

That's what I thought was weird.  I guess I could see doing something like this if your kid talked to you about it every day or something.  But I kinda doubt a little baby her size was asking to dye her mohawk purple, you know?

  • I think dyed hair of any color on kids whether they're old enough to ask or not is beyond tacky.

  • My friend's SIL has been highlighting her DD's hair since before she was even 1, I kid you not!  She liked the way it looked and so everytime she touched up her own hair, she would do her baby's hair too.  That's F*CKED UP!!!!!!

  • That is a little crazy to me.  I can see if the child is older and it is summer to do something non permanent for fun.  Yikes!
