My sister got married a year ago on a cruise to New Zealand and they never had a reception, so this year they threw a "White Wedding" 80s party this weekend! This is the cake I made. I didn't turn out quite like I was planning because I ran out of time, the ghosts were supposed to be shorter and fatter, with the white and black eyes, lined up with yellow dots and cherries - but I still think it looks cute!!! You can't quite see Ms. Pacman's pink bow or Pacman's black bowtie, but they're there. I have to AW it again in the evening, because I told Brookie I would post a pic when I did it.
Re: PIP AW: You have to check out the Pacman cake I made!!!
i love your Ms Pacman's veil.
Thanks for Aw'ing on demand
that is AWESOME!!
what flavor is it?
It's fondant.
Brookie, you ARE on!!! I didn't think you would be. Thanks! That was a last minute idea (along with the bowtie) and it's my favorite part of the cake.
Very cool!
When I read the title, I thought, "shoot, I can make a pacman cake," and was picturing a round cake with a slice missing
Bee Dub, here's the recipe:

It's so good!! The top layer and the two Pacmen are the white and the bottom layer is the chocolate. I got SO many compliments on how the cake tasted, everyone said it was the best "wedding" cake they had ever eaten.
River is taking a record long nap so I am daytime nesting to my hearts content
How is it to work with the fondant? I am a dunce at rolling so I am afraid of it.
Also, I'm loving vintage Elijah.
Go River!
I like fondant, but I suck at spreading buttercream, so I prefer it. I don't know if I was having an off day or if black fondant is harder to work with or what, but I had a hel! of a time with it on Saturday. I had to redo the bottom layer about 3 times. Just be sure to grease your hands, your rolling pin (I had to use a heavy marble rolling pin first, just because I was working with so much fondant for the bottom layer and then go back and smooth it with a fondant rolling pin), and your rolling mat with shortening. You can use powdered sugar, but I think it's easier with shortening.
I think fondant is fun and I love the way it looks. The brand Satin Ice actually tastes good, too (not a lot of people like the taste of fondant).
