TTC After a Loss

It's so..."woody"

So I am sitting here trying to munch down the pineapple core that DH cut up for me yesterday.  The taste is fine, but I feel like I am eating a huge piece of bark.  Any suggestions on how to choke it down?  <crunch, crunch, crunch...gulp>

  • A margarita perhaps?? :)

Maybe blend it up in a smoothie... yogurt, fruit, core....

  • Quickly!  Honestly, I cut mine into five pieces (and ate it for five days) and made sure to also eat some of the delicious fresh pineapple with it.  Good luck!

  • smoothie for sure. the core is gross to eat by itself IMHO. I have texture issues.

Yeah - seriously the texture sucks!  And it keeps getting caught between my teeth which I HATE!  I have to floss like 10 times after I eat these stupid cores.  This had better freakin' work!  I am giving up lucky charms to eat this!  ;)

I will let you know. I am putting it in the blender now with some vanilla yogurt and fresh pineapple (non-core type).  If this works I will have smoothies every day until 10 DPO!

  • I second the blender idea, it was the best way I found to get it down. Otherwise I would just cut it into small pieces and try to swallow them as whole as i could lol.

    Sounds good, hope it works!

  • Well its certainally easier to get down the hatch after mixing it up in a smoothy but there are still tough, stringy pieces of core.  Thats ok ... much better than before.  Bottoms up!!

  • I forgot til today about this... but I've been drinking pomegranate juice which is supposed to help with implantation as well.

Guess I'm headed to the store after work for some pineapple core and other  smoothie ingredients! lol

You know, I think the idea of eating the actual core is a misinterpretation... I have googled the heck out of this, and the sources I could find say that bromain is found in the stem and especially the "core fruit" of the pineapple. I googled some more and I think the term core fruit just refers to the fruit of the pineapple as opposed to the stem, leaves, etc. Not the core core. I'm not sure - I wish I knew more about botany. But I've never found a primary source that talks about the core, it's always "core fruit."
  • Hey ladies! When in the cycle are you supposed to eat the pineapple? Thanks, Sharon

I never thought about asking a botanist.  I just spent some time googling myself and I think your right.  The bromain is just in pineapple itself, not only the very core of it.  Thanks for the heads up.. I don't want to have to eat any more of this stuff!

Some chemical in the pineapple is supposed to aid with implantation.  So some suggest to eat it from 5 DPO to 10 DPO.  Others think its a wives tale and dont' put any stock in it.  I am just doing it because I have pineapple and anything extra I can do... I am willing to try!
