So much depends on what is available in your local area.
My service (Twin Cities, MN) has an on-line grocery store where you can order groceries. It is associated with a brick and mortar chain. You can search by title of food as well. They deliver from a central warehouse in bins with dry ice for frozen food, and ice packs for cold food. I don't even have to be home.
If you have a service like ours in your area, I recommend you add foods as you run out, save a shopping list with all your regular items saved. Also, I recommend doing some menu planning first, then ordering all the food you need.
Start with some small deliveries. I found that my local delivery (Vons) does a great job with everything except produce. So in the end, it wasn't worth it to me to keep ordering.
