Hey thanks for your reply to my depo post. That's so cool, we're neighbors! I took a look at your blog, your dog is so cute! We just got a Beagle, and my friend has a beagle-basset mix.... we should take them all to the dog park and let them play! My dog loves to play w/other hounds....
How long have you been off depo? are you and DH TTC now or are you charting to TTA? Please tell me more about your experience w/ depo. I've been on it since Sept, prior to that was on BCP for over 6 yrs.
I am really worried about how long my cycles will take to get regular, and wondering if I should even take this May shot at all. DH says he really wants to wait until May to TTC but if got pg anytime after the beginning of the year he would be ok (as in, wouldn't have the "oh $hit im not ready" reaction)... have to decide soon b/c my appt is next week

Hey there! We used to take our little girl to Fleet People's Park (prior to the leash law ). She LOVES other hounds.
Ive been off depo since November. We are TTC, but doing it knowing full well that it could take forever due to the Depo shot. I know that it might take a while for my cycle to get back to normal. I started spotting last week, which was really positive- GYN said that its a "start". I was on depo for 9 years. Started when I was 16. I was afraid that because I was on it for so long, it would take even longer to get pregnant. I learned though that it really doesnt matter if you were on it for 29 injections or 1, it doesn't make the time it takes to get pregnant any longer or shorter.
If I were you I definitely wouldnt get this shot. My DH and I had the same conversation (ironically a week before the next shot was due) and we decided that we could just TTA if we werent ready, but that I should at least try to get my body back to normal. That way when we were ready, we didnt have problems.

Wow... 9 years? Is your bone density ok? I am surprised your GYN would be ok with you being on it that long. My dr said he would only let me be on it for 2 years max...
Thanks so much for the advice, good luck TTC!!! I am wondering if i should switch to BCP until the end of the year and then go off and start charting, or if i should forget the shot and bcp alltogether and just start charting now.......
I'm going to call my dr office in a bit and see if the nurse has any advice.
I was on 1000 mg calcium a day, and the bone density tests I had were ok.
I dont think she should have let me be on it that long ( in hindsight), but since everything was always "normal" she let me.
I would be off of all of it, and just start charting. Thats just my opinion though. As long as you know that your chart probably will not make much sense. But at least, it will get you in the motions of charting, etc.
