I took clomid for 3 months... the first month I didn't gain anything, but the last two months I noticed my clothes fit differently. I'm not quite sure how much I gained but my clothes are REALLY tight now. I haven't taken it for a month, and I really want to loose the weight before I start IVF in July. Regardless of eating less, working out more and taking Slimquick, I think I'm STILL gaining weight. Argh!!
Re: clomid vent- any suggestions?
Try journaling. ?It sounds like you are doing a lot to lose, but sometimes there's something your missing. ?Also, up the water if you haven't already, incase you're retaining. ?Reduce salt for that reason too. ?Cut out diet soda and artificial sweeteners, this help sometimes. ?Other than that, up your fruit and veg intake and/or increases fiber. ?Sometimes you need a good "cleaning."
?GL! ?I've been there. ?I feel ya. ?shapedietplan.com is free and easy to journal once you get started, about a week in or so.?
ummm #1 don't take slimquick. I do not believe that it is a safe TTC/pregnancy drug. I don't know maybe you need to vary your workout and meals. I found that calorie cycling really helps me. every other day I eat 500 calories less. So if you are on a 1800 calorie diet, every other or every third day eat 1300 calories. It will keep your metabolism up but allow you to maybe stop the weight gain.
Please don't take slimquick. It doesn't work, those herbal supplements aren't FDA approved and contain things that are harmful to your body. You especially don't want those stimulants in your system when you are TTC.
Good call...and I know a co-worker who has been drinking that waste of money stuff, w/0 results.
Calorie cycling is a great thing, and the website I gave you does this too...I'm a health nut from way back, so I just use it for journaling purposes, but it will guide you as to your calories and macronutrient goals, etc. ?
PS~on the water retention, I'm down 1.5 lbs today, just from that. ?(My scale tells me these things...hehehe)?
On another note...I thought of you this weekend when I was camping, as I've heard you mention "survival camping" before. ?I LOVE camping, but wonder if I've got the wear-with-all to ENJOY survival camping. ?
I actually used to teach wilderness survival basics. I did it for 2 years and really loved it. That's why I am working to get in better shape because I miss how physical I used to be. We're actually going camping this weekend, not survival camping but we're taking the VW bus on its first overnight.
:::drools over VW bus::: ?I must hear about this trip and survival camping sometime. ?I can tell this is going to be an almost every weekend camping season for us. ?(I think it's subconscious vindication for missing snowboarding season COMPLETELY).?
thanks guys, I'll try the journal and cycling. I'm a really healthy person usually, I'm just at desperate times
I thought if I took the supplement for a month to help me loose I'd be okay since the chances of getting pg without IVF are slim to none.
AJ- it's good to know it's not just me!
I know!! I wouldn't mind the extra weight if I were PG, but since I'm not, it's that much more I'll have to work off after baby. These are the days I wish I could put on some maternity pants, for the extra stretch. Definately a blah feeling.
