Riding in the back-seat...

DD is 8 days old and although we have not gone out a whole lot we have gone out the last few days and I am still riding in the back seat with her. So far she has just slept in the car. At what point did most of you stop doing riding in the back?

I only did on the way home from the hospital. I get motion sickness for longer trips so I really don't like riding in the back.

I did it for the first week or two, but we didn't go very many places anyway. I also get car sick, so I don't like being in the back. Plus, DS just slept all the time anyways.

I still do. DS screams if DH and I are both in the front.

I would say for the first few weeks I rode back there all the time. Now we still ride back there if DS is fussy or especially if it is dark out. He seems to have developed a strong dislike for riding in the car at night.

I ride in the back usually in the evenings when Austin is fussy. (like when we come home from the ILs and they NEVER listen when we say we have to leave before 730!)

I still do. Not really sure why, b/c Harrison is fine in the backseat by himself on the way home from work/daycare. I guess I just like sitting back there playing with Harrison and making faces at him to pass the time.

I still do for longer trips...it is just easier for us...but honestly, he does just fine with or with out me back there.

I rode in the back for a long time with DD - probably 3 months or so. She had reflux and had a few incidents where she started choking in the car. It scared the crap out of me!

I never rode in the back with DS. In our minivan with both carseats it would mean I would have to ride on the very back bench seat and it was uncomfortable that I just never did it.

We still sit in the back with Sophia. We kinda have to in DH's Civic because the front seat is pushed forward too much to comfortably sit up there. I think when we turn her to forward facing, I'll start sitting up front again. That won't be for some time though.

I would if I could but our backseat is too small until we get our minivan. Kate doesn't like not seeing anyone and screams for most of the ride.

once i was allowed to drive... I drove her somewhere myself when she was 13 days old.. so no one rode in the back with her that time.. so I gradually started to not ride in the back even when we were with DH. If she is fussy sometimes I'll still ride in the back with her.
