I got this response from a Craigslist ad I placed. It is a scam right?
As long as it is available for pick up, i will love you to remove the
ads from the Craigslist to avoid other buyers from disturbing you. I
want you to know that i will be paying with a Bank Certified Check and
if you are satisfy with this i will instruct my secretary to mail it
out to you immediately. I will need you to provide me with the
following information to facilitate the mailing of the Check :
(1) Your full name to write on the Check.
(2) A physical address including your zipcode
(3) Cell or Phone number.
***I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for moving
this item. My mover
will contact you for the best schedule time for the pickup and they
will be coming over as soon as you have the payment. Mail me back
immediately.Thanks.
I am pretty sure it is a scam. What do I do with it, ignore it, report it?
Re: Craigslist Question - scam right?
Hm...I would call your bank and see if they would accept a "certified bank check" because that wording just sounds off to me. Does he mean a cashier's check? Because they would only need your name for the cashier's check (although, I understand him wanting your address to mail it to you). If your bank is cool with it, maybe offer to call his bank directly and provide the necessary information so you don't have to provide it to a (potential) scammer.
It doesn't sound like a scam, but it doesn't sound right, either. Ya know?
ETA: I guess I'm just gullable.
Scam scam scam.
I would definitely not respond to that person, and report it to craigslist.
