blood in SA?

I know this may sound like a dumb question, but when DH dropped off his SA there was a little bit of blood in it.  He doesn't seem the least bit concerned with it and says it has happened before when being forced to perform under pressure.  My gyn wants DH to go to a urologist and I agree but I'm not really pushing the issue. 

Anyway, can this in any way be part of why we've been TTC for so long?  can this actually cause problems?

    Have you gotten the report back on the SA? I dont know if it would affect ttc, but it does sound like something to definately check with your urologist about in case its another problem. good luck.

    I didn't get all the numbers (I'm going tonight) but they said that everything was fine, a lil slow but nothing to worry about.  When they called my house to confirm the appt they told DH that they didn't know why I was coming in if he hadn't gone to the urologist yet, besides the fact that I wanted to smack her I thought it was a weird comment to make.  If the SA came back okay then why is this urologist appt such a big deal?

    I wouldnt think you would need to see the urologist about fertility issues if his analysis came back fine. Sometimes if its borderline, its better to have a urologist interpret the results vs an ob/gyn. however, i would see the urologist to ask about the blood in the semen and make sure its not a different kind of problem.

    That's what I figured, I just got annoyed with the comments that the receptionist/nurse made.
