Trying to Get Pregnant

If you went into your community work fridge..

and found a breast pump (attached to a bottle full of breast milk) sitting next to your ham sandwich would you be grossed out?

  • Yes, I think I would be. That's not your personal frig!

  • yes... I dont think that should be in a work fridge!
  • Coming from someone that will likely have to pump at work, I think I'll try to find a lunch bag or  a travel bag to set everything down in while it's in the fridge...

  • Yes I would be..It would not be difficult to put it in an insulated bag (in fridge) or a small cooler (at ones desk). Several of my gfs do these very things..

TMI frankly for the office fridge.

  • I think if it wasn't just sittin out there in all it's glory it would be much better. Like Monkey said, put it in a bag or something!!!

I think a lunch bag would be appropriate.

    This.

  • Yeah, I think that would freak me out a little.  She could at least put it in a plastic bag or something.

Thank you IVF for our little miracles!!
  • My co-worker pumps and leaves her pump/bottles in the fridge, she puts them in container on the bottom of the fridge in a corner.  It has been unofficially dubbed her milk corner and everyone seems fine with that.  I wouldn't mind having breast milk/pump in a shared fridge I would just ask for some good discretion on storage.
  • Yes I would be grossed out unless it was in a bag or something.

Ditto.  I think I'd get an insulated lunch sack so it could serve multiple purposes...

    • * discrete since you can't seen inside of it, and closes with a zipper for added privacy
    • * a strap/handle for easy portability at the end of the day
    • * insulated to help keep the milk chilled for the drive home
  • I would definitely be a little grossed out.  When my boss was pumping, the office gave her a mini fridge for use in her own office.  That way, nobody had to have their ham sandwich next to it!

  • From someone that pumped at work, I think the pump part should have been removed and the bottle should have been closed.  Not sure why it would have to be covered.
  • LOL!  Umm, yeah I guess I might!
  • There is a girl currently pumping at work, and her pump comes with it's own insulated bag, and no one really cares here.  So yeah, I think the bag is mandatory.

Why would she leave the pump attached?  I wouldn't be grossed out.  I pump at work (have my own fridge in my office). But if I didn't have my own fridge I would probably put the bottles in a bag.  I wouldn't have a problem if someone else didn't though.  No biggie to me.
