What do you all eat for lunch?

Before I got pregnant, I ate a frozen dinner (like weight watchers) every day.  I am still eating them but I know they are not the best option.  They have never kept me full very long so its even worse now that I am eating for two.  So what does everyone do for lunch?  I don't have a lot of prep time in the morning and I think its too expensive to eat out every day.

Any ideas?

  • I almost have the same thing everyday...steamed vegetables with brown sauce and some brown rice.

  • I eat at the work cafeteria everyday, it's awesome.  Today I had a noodle bowl with tofu and a peanut butter cookie :)

  • I pack my lunch the night before.... today i had baby carrots and grapes - Yogurt for snack.

  • I eat sandwiches... with lunch meat.
  • I used to eat the frozen dinners too!

I picked up applesauces and puddings to eat on my shorter breaks or at my desk and I will try to bring whatever sounds good with me to work. sometimes the dinners I grab once I make them I have no choice but to throw them out anyway. I now have a stash of options in my cubby -Ramen noodles, lunchables, cans of soup, I have a little supply to hopefully suffice me. I hope you can find something for you!

  • A Kashi frozen meal with an apple or orange, a turkey sandwhich with carrot sticks, PB&J with an apple or yogurt, leftovers...
  • It depends.  If we have leftovers - I bring those, Last week I took one of the Heathly Choice steamers - OMG it was so good.  And if we don't have any of those - I do a PBJ!
  • I miss my frozen dinner lunches! I've been bringing leftovers or salads. DH usually makes my lunch for me since cooking seriously nauseates me. Last week he made a BLT with Avocado wrap for me to bring. It was fantastic! Today I have a Spa Salad from Trader Joe's.
  • I'm trying to graze (doctor's orders) throughout the day. I keep fresh fruits and veggies on hand, as well as applesauce and things like that. I am eating a frozen dinner for lunch, and since I'm snacking throughout the day, I don't seem to be as hungry or feel as icky that way.
  • I am 10 weeks and have been feeling queasy all day especially when I think of what I should eat. Luckily I've been able to keep down chicken, pasta, and cheese. I usually take leftovers from the night before or take microwaveable meals that have foods I can hold down in them. Easy mac is really good and its ready fast. It is small though so I usually take a couple more items like a small bag of chips and some microwaveable chicken taquitos.
  • you could still eat the same things and just have additional steamed vegetables and fruit between your meals -that adds up to the extra 300 calories you are suppose to have.

remember that you are really not suppose to eat for 2.. you really are eating for one and a baby.

The hardes part is cravings.. so try to stock up on veggies and fruit.

  • gorgonzola and sushi
    2 girls and a dog
  • I'll bring leftovers if they are available... or eat at the cafeteria here at work.  I also like to just get what I call the "adult" lunchables (they are lunchables but are just 2 kinds of meat, 2 cheeses and crackers with an Andes mint for dessert)... that and a piece of fruit usually holds me over for a few hours until snack time.

  • fresh fruits, veggies, applesauce, trail mix for a salty fix, and today I held down a pepperoni pizza slice. I also keep hard sugar free candies in my lunch bag for those occasions when I need sometime for taste, but can't stomach the actual food. And of course, my water bottle.
  • I usually take leftovers but like everyone if there isnt anything I end up taking soup/crackers, pbj sandwich with some chips and fruit.  Whatever sounds good in the morning is what I take which is sometimes bad because by the time I go to eat it sometimes it just doesnt sound good!!
  • Today I had rice & lentils with ground beef in tomato sauce, and watermelon for dessert. Yum!
  • taco salad... I regret it immenselyIck!!
