Hi ladies ![]()
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 months ago. I have been taking my Levothyroxine as directed by my doc. I have been off BC for a year now, DH & I are not TTC but are not using any form of prevention either (will start to actively TTC at the end of summer). I am on day 90 of my cycle, called last week to see the doc but the soonest I could get in to see her is 5/14 ![]()
I guess I am just looking for anyone who might be in the same boat as me. I am wondering if anyone's cycle became regular after taking meds if so how long? Was your hypothyroidism an issue while TTC? I am just feeling a little down today & looking for any support from others who may be going through the same thing or have a success story.
TIA!
Re: Anyone TTC with Hypothyroidism? Or have success stories?
Thanks for the reply
First of all, congratulations! I am so happy to hear that you didn't have any issues getting pregnant.
My cycles have always been effed up. Either really long (98 days) or really short (18 days). There has never been any sort of pattern and to be honest, I didn't really care or worry before. Now that we are thinking about TTC I am worried that I might be facing some issues other than being hypo. I am really anxious to meet with my doctor and discuss the possibility of PCOS.
Your welcome, and thanks for the congrats! I'm sure everything for you will be fine! But it definitely doesn't hurt to ask questions. Like I said, i would look up the symptoms of PCOS and see if you have any other symptoms. That way you will be prepared with this knowledge when you go into the doctors office. That is how I was diagnosed with Hypo. I went in with the knowledge of my symptoms in relation to Hypo and that is why they did the test. Good luck to you! I'm sure you will be fine!
I have hypo and had a partial thyroidectomy last summer. My endo knew were were TTC and I saw him every two months. It took us 7 cycles to get KU. Now, I will see him every six weeks and he is going to closely monitor my levels. His theory was that is you keep track of everything and continue to visit your doctor, you should be OK.
GL!
