Boy or Girl Name?

I like the name Emerson for a possible future boy name.  However, I think I've only seen girls on this board named Emerson.  So in your opinion, is Emerson a girl's name or a boy's name?  TIA.

  • girl.

and if you have to ask - don't name your boy that.

  • Girl; it's my cousin's daughter's name.

    ?

  • I think girl, only because I know an Emerson and her nn is Emmy.

If you like Emerson for a boy, how about Emmett (which I LOVE)??

  • I think of it as a girl's name.
  • LOL-My daughter's name is Emerson but, I think it is unisex.  When I named her a year ago everyone was saying boy.  If you like it for your son, my all means, name him Emerson.  : )

  • A boy's, really, but a lot of people are naming their girls boys names such as Emerson, Riley, Avery, etc.  It sorta sucks because it's ruining names for boys.  We only have the boring names like "Tom" and "Bill" options left.

LOL.  Can you please name my boy to be?  My husband and I are having the worst time of it.  It was such an easy process to choose a name for our DD, but I'm afraid we have to name DS "Little Boy".

I think short of something like Siegfried or Gunther there really aren't any boys' names that are safe anymore.

  • I like it for both but I'd never use it because it's my last name.  I think I'd like it better for a boy name though.

i know a girl Clark!!! LOL and tate is too close to tatum (girl name)

  • I love Linden for a girl or a boy and the next baby HAS to have the middle name Clark b/c it's a family name.  So, if it's a girl, it's Linden Clark and we may well call her Clark.  I think it's cute.
