starting provera today
Tonight I took my first pill of Provera. Hopefully this will end my 50 something day cycle. ( I am not next to the calender so I don't remember exactly what day).
Anyone else take Provera? Anything I should know, any side affects? How long after taking it did you finally get AF?

Thanks. If you don't mind me asking ....was it a normal period or lighter or heavier? Just trying to prepare myself....lol. It always makes me nervous to take new meds. I hate taking any kind of medicine.
It was light for me, but everyone is different.
It was actually really weird. It was very light. Not what I was expecting.
Good luck starting it! I'm on my second round right now, after I completed my first dosage it took 7 days after the last pill for AF to arrive. She stayed around for 5 days, was gone for 4 and then came back for 3 days. I called my nurse and she said that it is normal to do this since my cycle before was 50+ days.
Just pay attention to your body and try to carry a tampon/pad/panty liner with you always. Oh, the only side effect I felt was really really tired at the end of the day. I'd start watching t.v. around 9p.m and the next thing I knew I was asleep on the couch.
I'll be taking pill #3 in a couple of hours. No side effects so far. I'm hoping this will bring an end to my now 146-day cycle (yup, you read that right).
