This is a C&P from my blog, so it is probably longer than I would normally write, but I wanted to share with you all how she did and thank you for your support and well wishes! I know she is still transitioning, but I have to say, WOW, she blew us away with how well she did.
We have been letting her play in her new room for about a month and a half now to get her used to it. We have been also telling her it is her new room and new bed and she would be in it soon, so I really think that helped with the transition because it wasn't a foreign place to her on the night we finally moved.
On Friday, DH tucked her in and she cried a bit for him and told him to "lie down." DH told her he couldn't and calmed her a bit before leaving. She got pretty upset when he left and got out of bed and tried to open the door (which as of now, she can't do). After about two minutes of trying, she realized it was futile. She shocked us both by just crawling back into bed. She whimpered for a bit more and got upset a few times. We both went up there to talk with her and tell her she was doing great and was a big girl. After I went up, she went to sleep and slept the entire night in the bed! Even when she woke up Saturday morning around 6:45, she just said "Daddy. I want Daddy." while sitting in the corner of her bed waiting on him.
On Saturday, she was really tuckered out. We both took her up to bed and as we were changing her diaper she told us "Say prayers!" We were both elated because it meant she knew that was where she would sleep. After we said her prayers, she wanted Daddy to put her down, so he laid her in bed and she asked him to "lay down" too again. He told her he couldn't and said goodnight. She let out a wimper as he left. We had folded her covers down because it was kind of warm and I heard her say "I want my covers" as she reached down and got them, covered herself, and went to sleep for the night.
Around 2AM, I had to get up to go to the bathroom, so I checked on her over the monitor and he bed was disheveled, but I couldn't really see a DD shape in it, so I panned the camera to the right (I am SO SO SO glad we got the one that can pan - there is so much more to the room than just the tiny bit that shows up on the initial screen) and saw this.
She was passed out on the floor. Apparently, falling didn't bother her because she hadn't made a peep since saying she wanted her covers. I woke up DH because, well, it was kind of cute and wanted to know what he thought we should do. We decided to leave her on the floor as to not disturb her and clearly, she was not bothered by it. Around 2:30AM, she did call out for "Daddy" a few times and he went in and moved her. She told him "I love you" and went right back to sleep.
Re: The big girl bed...(LONG)
Wow! That is so great! Go, Kylie!
It was great to see that cutie pie in person yesterday, btw.
I totally forgot to ask you about this yesterday and then I was wondering about it driving home. Glad it's going well. We've got to start thinking about the move to a big girl room in a few months too. Kylie is such a smartie, hope it continues to go good!!!!
