Bergen - sounded cute when I heard it

I'm done having children, but I heard this name yesterday and I thought it was worth mentioning on here. I don't know how she spells it, so I just spelled it like the county in NJ!!!

    I'm not one to like place names either, even names like Charlotte. But it seemed cute at the time.

    I know a really cute little girl named Bergen.  I have always thought her name was pretty cool.

    Reminds me of Bergen-Belsen, which is the Nazi concentration camp where Anne Frank and her sister died. Talk about horrible, horrible associations. I really can't imagine anyone actually using this as a name knowing that association. Might as well use Auschwitz or Treblinka for a name.

    I agree with the others.  Bergen doesn't have very nice connotations.

    History was not one of my best subjects, but I can't remember ever hearing the words Bergen-Belsen. Maybe they skipped over that in my elementary school or I was not paying attention.

    It's strange to me, but I think bc I live in bergen country.  I think Hudson is cute though, and I work in Hudson county?  I think it would be cuter to me if I didn't live her.

    This is why message boards are helpful. I remember when we were thinking of a name for DS, I ran the name "Nelson" by the Nesties. I had no idea it was a character on The Simpsons. (Is that right--Simpsons?) EVERYONE said it reminded them of that character. That name was scrapped pronto!

    Yeah Bergen-Belsen was my first thought too.

    My next thought was to be bourgening with something.?
