Violet is actually on my list as well! I love the name, even though it's a bit common although not in my area, and think it's very classic sounding. MY favorite is Ruth or Alice, even though we're thinking of using either/or for a middle name with other names. I really love Juliet/Juliette too although it's out of the question for us since my sister is Julia.
I had a teacher one time, who went by Miss Mary Ann, and I really did not like her, so I do not like that name at all. But only because of a bad experience! haha Abigail is very pretty too!
Deborah-okay, but I know a lot of Deborah's my mom's age, and it's just ?NMSJuliet or Juliette: which looks more traditional? ?-I say Juilette. Not a fan of the Shakespeare spelling.Mary Anne or Marianne- Mary Ann/Mary Anne. The other spelling looks like Mary-on to me (or a variation of Mary -on-ah)Violet- love this :)Alice- ?Classic, sounds like the 50s but I don't think it's my style exactly. it is my MIL's mn though. ?It sounds like an okay mn to me, but I wouldn't like it for a first name.?Also, ?it's a Twilight character. (I wonder if character names will increase in popularity...)Ruth-I like this one, and it's uncommon.Abigail -pretty but very popular (in the top 10)
Deborah - OK. Considered it, then nixed b/c I can't stand the nn Debbie.
Juliet or Juliette: which looks more traditional? - I like Juliette
Mary Anne or Marianne - I like Marianne
Violet - Good name. Was on my list.
Alice - Was my grandmother's name. I like the name itself, but I wouldn't use it because it would hurt my mom's feelings (it was her MIL and they never got along).
Ruth - Good name. (Actually my gma Alice's sister's name. Ruth was much nicer than Alice)
Deborah- ok, sounds a bit old fashionedJuliet or Juliette: which looks more traditional? ?Juliet. LOVE itMary Anne or Marianne- cute. i like it!?Violet- very pretty, but i would never use itAlice- NMSRuth- NMS, but we are using it for a middle name because it's a family nameAbigail- beautiful. i think abby is adorable too.
Deborah - this is my name and although I do love it, I hated when people spell it wrong (Debra, Debora, Debbi, Debby etc). However I think it is very classic and unique at the same time.
Abigail is also very pretty it is a name we are considering if this baby is a girl.
Deborah-too old fashioned for my taste. Debra is my aunt's name and Deborah/Debra was the name of about four middle age to older nurses who were all on duty as some point while I was having DS. Oh and my aunt is a nurse too.
Juliet or Juliette- I love this name. I really like both spellings but think Juliet is more traditional.
Mary Anne or Marianne- Not bad. Reminds me of Mary Anne from The Babysitters Club.
Violet-pretty name
Alice- Brady Bunch, so no.
Ruth- I kind of like this name and the nickname Ruthie. You would have a little baby Ruth!
Abigail-Love this name.

Juliet or Juliette: which looks more traditional? hmm, I love Juliet but I would think Juliette is more traditional. Great choice
Mary Anne or Marianne- Not so keen on this, although one of my best friends is a Maryanne.
Violet- very cute. Really like it. Of course you know that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's daughter is also Violet?
Alice- Don't like it.
Ruth- My grandmother's name! I do like Ruth, but I think of the Friends episode where Rachel and Ross were thinking of using it and they said "we'll have a little Baby Ruth" and that was the end of that.
Abigail

I LOVE Juliette. It is my favourite name. Can't use it because my stepmom is named Julie. Both spellings are equally traditional, Juliet is the English spelling and Juliette is the french one. I prefer the french one because I think it is more elegant and less like Romeo and Juliet. Plus, some people pronounce Juliet like Julie-it, whereas Juliette is much clearer that it is Julie-ette.
Re: More girl names
Juliette! I love it, I also love Violet.
