Ovidrel and staying refrigerated

This is our 6th cycle using Ovidrel and no luck so far.  So I am trying to think if I am doing anything wrong.  I know that it has to be refrigerated.  A nurse at my RE's office always gives me the shot when I go in for a follie check before our IUI.  But I am starting to wonder if it is working because it is not refrigerated for about an  hour.  Could this cause it to not work?  or am I just over thinking things?

Re: Ovidrel and staying refrigerated

  • They told me to take it out and let it warm up before taking it...don't know how long is too long though...maybe bring a little lunch bag next time? can't hurt!
  • Loading the player...
  • My syringe was cold and straight from the fridge (literally less then 2-3 minutes from fridge to injection) for my IVF in which I had a successful ER and got a BFP.  I was told that it had to be kept cold, same with my Lupron and Follistim.

  • Hmmm  My Re told me that I needed todo the shot with it at room temp.  The pharmacy said that it could be out of fridge for up to 30 days without any problems.  Now I'm starting to wonder....DH does shots for himself on an unrelated matter and hasalways told to be usre they are at room temp when giving the shot, if for noother reason than it will hurt much more when cold....

  • Freedom told me that it had a 28 day shelf life unrefrigerated and a 6 month-1 year shelf life refrigerated. Last time I knew I was going to use it within 12 hours, so I left it out (and it worked fine and we got a BFP). This time it is stored in my fridge. THe instructions say to let it warm to room temp before injecting though....
