So I tried sitting out in the sun

I've never been one of those girls that can sit out and tan. I get so bored and hot, and it's uncomfortable if you want an even tan! Anyways, attempting not to blind everyone with my paleness this summer I wanted ot get some sun on my legs and arms. I tried sitting out for 20 mins and that as that. If it wasn't the huge bees buzzing around it was just so uncomfortable. Ugh- I hate being pale!!!

Re: So I tried sitting out in the sun

  • I can't just sit out in the sun either! Unless I'm at the beach, by the pool or beach with margarita in hand. Which obviously, I'm not.

  • I tried, too!  No bees or wasps, just sweat and tears:-)  Went in after 15 minutes.  I need to have pool or ocean waters in order to relax and stay cool, which my deck has neither!
  • 2 words....spray tan!  lol  :)
  • Over the years, I've come to embrace my ridiculous white-ness.

Skin cancer runs rampant in my family, and I'm not willing to increase my chances any more than I already have in my life. It's just not worth it! My friends tease me about my ghostly white legs, but I just don't care anymore. My skin is healthy, and hopefully will be for many years to come!

that's a good way of looking at it! embrace the pale, at least it's healthy. you might have changed my mind with a simple but powerful message. Yes

  • I usually love being out in the sun, but I was out working in my garden today, and could only stand being out there for like 20 min at a time before I'd start feeling yucky. :( I guess I'm going to wind up pale this summer too!

  • I was just sitting outside just watching my husband work and was burning up!  I very seriously contemplated getting in my dogs' pool, but decided against it.  I just went in made some raspberry lemonade.
