I like this name a lot. It's Dh's great grandma's name too which I think is nice. The middle name will either be Catherine or Caroline (our grandma's names).?WDYT??
I love the idea of honoring a family member, but I don't like Helen at all. In general, I'm just not a fan of using names that make you think "old lady" or "old man" when you hear them. One of my friends from high school was named Martha Helen, and she was always so embarrassed by it. She chose to go by Helen because it was a little better than Martha, but she still resented her parents for it lol. I know that isn't a priority for some people, but I would never want to give my child a name that they would feel ashamed of. Catherine and Caroline are both really pretty though which is nice because then your daughter would have the option to go by her mn instead if she so chooses.
ETA: I hope I wasn't too harsh. I just think there's something to be said about giving a child a name that's a little more current. This same friend was kind of a social misfit, and her name didn't help her in that department at all.
I love Helen. It's so classically beautiful, and of course reminds people of Helen of Troy, always a good connotation. :-) I love both your middle name choices, although I'm partial to Helen Caroline.
I like Helen, but I don't love the middle name choices. I think it's just the fact that they end with the same sound as Helen, because they're both lovely names.
I like it. I don't agree that it sounds "old lady". It's a classic that I could definitely see being popular very soon. Look at all the older names that are coming back like Amelia, Lucy, Audrey, Eleanor, Lillian, Evelyn, Violet, Charlotte, etc!

Ditto,
I think it sounds nice. As PP said, names previously seen as 'old fashioned' are coming back these days. Helen is very pretty but not popular/trendy.
I really like Catherine and Caroline, though with Helen it sounds like a lot of the 'n' sound when I say it out loud.
I think Helen Caroline sounds the best. Very pretty
