  I think Adlai is a male name.

  And I'm not a fan of the m/add- trendy thing going on with girls names.  It's almost as bad as the -aden trend with boys.

  I like it and prefer the spelling Adaleigh or Adalee.  Adalie leaves too much room for interpretation.  That is, assuming you're going for the "Add-a-lee" pronunciation.

  At first glance I didn't know how to say it. At second glance (once my brian kicked in) I thought it was quite pretty. At third glance it made me think of addled eggs or brains.

  It's ok. I think people may pronounce it ada-lie or ada-lay. I'm not sure which you are going for.?
