Garth?

I've always wanted to name my first son, which this is, after my father. Problem is, my DH doesn't want his Dad to feel hurt since we don't include him also (if we did the name would be Garth Tyrone or Vice versa. And Tyrone is white-only 1 I've ever met.) Anyways-I'll settle for a middle name of Garth but need a good first name. Please help!! I need to sell DH on something good. DH isn't pushing for his dad's name, but I am for mine. Plz help!!!

What's your fathter's middle name? Or DH's middle name?

What is you FIL's middle name? You could also use your maiden name (if you changed your name) as a middle name or something as a way to include both.

I know how you feel though, we had a hard time figuring out whether we wanted to use my family names or DH's. We ended up deciding that we would name our first after the oldest living relative of that gender, which happens to be my grandparents, and then alternate family names for other kids down the road.

I would definitely consider taking a look at the middle names. I think you are going to have a difficult time finding a first or middle name that flows well with Garth.

I dont' know FIL's middle name and it doesn't matter. This isn't about him. The problem DH has is that his dad might feeeeel bad. Not that DH is pushing to name him partly after him. Make sense? And to be honest-if we name our kid after someone-I want it to be someone who is worthy of it. FIL is not a jag or anything, just not renamable.

Anyways, anyone have a good first name compatible with Garth?? Its a tough one, I know. But I really kinda have my heart set on it.

There is nothing wrong with Garth Tyrone.

Even if you don't love Tyrone, it really doesn't matter that much. How often are you introduced by your first and middle name in day-to-day life? I'll bet you don't even know the middle name of your co-workers.

The last time I was introduced using my first and middle names was at my college grad.
