Have you picked up dc birth certificate?

They mailed me their SS#s but I still haven't ordered their birth certificates. Did you have to order it over the phone, online or go in person?

ETA: I just looked up the town information from where I delivered and it's $25 per birth certificate. Its going to cost me $50! I know it's not much but I don't understand why I have to pay $50 for 2 pieces of paper..sheesh..is this the norm?

I am supposed to go get it, but I delivered in a hospital that is 2 counties over. . . I am lazy. I guess I will have to get them both at the same time now. .

I had to go get it because I needed it for insurance purposes. Yes, it is pricey and I had to pay $25 as well.

I picked up DD's, however, the town by us was $25. It was only $5 for the second copy, so we purchased an extra and put them in different places.:)

Huh, We didnt pay a penny. They were sent to us after he was born, and we filled out the paperwork in the hospital.

Additional copies cost, but the first one was free

Ours cost $20 each. I had to wait 6 weeks after birth to request them. I sent the paperwork off in the mail yesterday.

I filled out the paperwork in the hospital. If I wanted it sent to me it cost $25 plus $5 for each additional copy. I ordered 2 copies and they were sent to me within a week.

i could have had it mailed to me (it would take several weeks to receive), so i went and picked it up. ?cost $20. ?i needed it for insurance.

DS is over 2 y/o and I still have never picked up his birth cert. We haven't needed it yet- so I figure no sense in getting it and then not knowing where I put it when I do need it

I'll pick it up if i ever need it.... so far has not been an issue - we have his SScard and have opened bank accounts, etc - that's all we have needed.

I picked it up since he needed a passport for our vacation back in February...it was $20, they get our money anyway they can!
