Nuby Sippy ?

DS loves these soft-tipped sippies, but I was wondering if you guys have this issue or if DS has super duper suction...lol...

Every time he drinks from it, the soft spout caves in so I have to release the air to get it to stick up straight again--it becomes concave every time he drinks from it.  This is a royal PITA, so if anyone has suggestions fill me in.  Thanks!

Re: Nuby Sippy ?

  • we started out with the nubys' and then switched to a hard spout after she got the hang of them. she would constantly poke the rubber thing in

  • It always happens to us!!!  I have no advice, but it is annoying
  • DS does this too. I've tried to make the vent hole a bit bigger and it helps but you can't fill it as full. Give it a try. Snip out some of those little ends and see if it works for you. Just be careful because it will come out even faster!

  • We have never had this problem.  Dd uses the munchkin ones and she loves them!  She chews on the spout and drinks very well from it and has never had that happen.  hth
  • My sister, BPASippehCup (my parents wanted her to be unique) is kinda skanky and cheating on her husband. Well, anyhow, she told me "Nuby ain't stubby if you know what I mean."

She did neglect to tell me that Nuby can't keep it up.

  • Yeah we had the same prob. I was aware of it in advance though from using them with DS. They are a great trainer cup for them to learn with though, just switch to a hard spount now and it will be fine. Sounds like he has the hang of it :)
  • dd has super duper suction skills too. she does the same thing. she actually found a sort-of solution herself - she holds the cups upside down and then doesn't have it collapsing on her face. it's funny.

i'm not buying them again. the munchkin ones don't do that, so i'll be getting more of those when we need more cups.

  • Which Munchkin cups????  We use the Nuby because it's the only one I've found that doesn't leak when DD lets it lay.  But the top collapses for us and DD has pulled it out before so I am thinking it's time to move on.  The hard spouted one made me wake up to a trail of stickiness across my kitchen floor this morning (thanks cat, yes, I found the missing cup).
