Does DC discipline you?

Ugh. Maybe discipline isn't the right word...scold? I don't know. Anyway. My DD has become so bossy and I just don't know if this is normal. Luckily, it just seems to be in our house to me and DH and my son's. Usually the conversation goes something like this:

Me: "Alyssa, go in your playroom and look for your cup"

Alyssa: "No! YOU go look for my cup"

Me: "Alyssa, don't talk to me like that, that isn't nice"

Alyssa: "No! You not nice!"

And usually while this conversation is going in she is trying to get all up in my face and is wagging her finger at me. Where the heck did she even learn this behavior? I'm a SAHM so I'm at a total loss.?

Re: Does DC discipline you?

  • Yes, totally!  Most of the time I tell him "we don't tell mom no", but sometimes I can't help but giggle a little bit.

  • Not really, but maybe a little. It is more like just copying me. Yesterday he pooped on the floor and I said "Oh no! What did you do?" I was really frustrated so maybe it didn't come out very nice. He imitated me down to my hand gestures. LOL! So, for him it is just imitation and I don't think he actually thinks he is bossing me.

  • Kind of.  I get it occasionally from DS.  DH gets it much more often.  I know that our son knows who he can get away with doing this to.  DH is a softie about a lot of things- usually cookies, playing baseball in the house, and that sort of thing.  I would guess that's why our son would take advantage like that?
