Talking to BF's friends makes me feel better about myself :)

My man is really successful if you didn't know him you wouldn't think he would hang out with this group of people. They are all pretty much deadbeats with no real future. While they are fun to party and hang out with- You'd think at our age (range between 24 and 34) they'd be a little more concerned about making money and making a career for themselves.

Just and FYI this has nothing to do with not having a degree or going to college- my BF spent time at a community college but never got a degree and we still live a very nice lifestyle and he is successful in his career- so anyone else in his situation is perfectly capable of doing the same.

    My perspective of some of our friends has drastically changed now that DH and I are getting ready to have a baby.  It makes me love DH more and more every day!

    I feel ya on that one, girl.  Most of our friends only want to hang out if alcohol is involved, and if they can crash at our house when doing so. It really pisses me off... but makes me realize that I like being an adult and living the life I live.

    What does your BF do for a living? My FI didn't finish college either, but works as a prison guard and loves what he does. So, no, we don't all need a degree... completely agree.

    I know exactly what you mean... we're not wealthy or anything, but on DH's job we do ok. We make enough that I can be a SAHM. No frills or anything, but enough, and when I look at some of our friends who simply have no drive to do anything with their lives, it makes me a little sad for them.

    DON'T JUDGE.. but he works in Mortgages. I don't know exactly how- but the company he work for is still doing pretty well; despite the problems with the real estate market.

    Right there with you. One of Dhs friends just left a message saying he wanted to get together this weekend. We're still avoiding him...for the very same reasons you just stated.

    Hey, a job is a job... I don't see anything wrong with that. The people that DONT have jobs and live off of the state are the ones that I will judge.

    I feel the same way. Alot of DH friends are like this and still living at home with their parents. I dont know how they can stand doing to.
